E-Bikes & Bikes Customised to You
Sometimes, life is a challenge when you are a shorter woman. I know because I am one. Recently, I went on a quest to find the best beach cruisers for short-statured females. I live on the Florida coast where beach rides by bicycle are super fun, especially those with a basket and bell attachments.
However, it is hard for me to find a bicycle because of my short legs. I can’t settle for a men's bike as it doesn’t fit me well as it is too tall for my height, and it is difficult to stop a bike when you can’t reach the ground. At the same time, I also can't use my kids' bikes because they are too small, and I end up having knee and hip pains after using them.
To solve the problem of not finding rentable bikes that fit, I went out to buy my own beach cruiser for short women. Here are the best bicycles, including some electric bikes I found in the process.
Finding the right beach cruiser for short women can be tough. So, here are three amazing bikes that are suitable for petite and short women.
It’s a special beach cruiser for short women due to its step-through design, which makes getting on and off of this cruiser easy. Apart from this, the pedals are moved 4 inches forward, so the rider can keep the seat lower and pedal comfortably. It also comes with disc brakes and a 500-watt motor, which you can use to ride at 20 mph. Not only this, the 500-watt battery allows the rider to cover up to 40 miles in pedal assist mode.
It is among the best cruisers for petite women and features a 250-watt motor. This cruiser works with or without pedaling, going up to 20 mph. Also, it has a 26V/10.4Ah battery that would allow you to travel up to 25 miles while pedaling. With 26-inch wheels, disc brakes, and a comfy design, it’s a great cruiser for people from 5 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall.
This bike has a powerful 500-watt motor that works in both pedal assist and full electric modes and can reach a speed of up to 20 mph. It’s 500-watt-hour battery will further let you travel 20–40 miles with both electric power and pedal assist mode. It also features 26-inch wheels with 2.125-inch tires for a smooth ride that fits riders from 5 to 6 feet tall.
Picking the beach cruiser, for short, makes their ride better and more fun. These beach cruiser bikes are great for short and petite women, offering comfort, enjoyment, and style.
To keep the cruisers for petite women running in great condition, you must constantly charge their batteries. The following section will show you how to do it:
By following these easy steps, you will be able to keep the cruisers for petite women in great shape.
Women’s EVRYJourney Hybrid Cruiser by sixthreezero
Let me start with one of the most exciting bikes on this list–the new EVRYJourney Women’s electric bike. First of all, this is an e-bike that is powered by an electric motor. This gives me a physical break when riding the bike, especially when the winds are strong or if I am riding up a small hill.
I love how easily I can maneuver the bike’s handlebars, and how smooth my turns are, because it is super light. Yet the bike is sturdy enough to keep me balanced. I also like how the pedals are positioned. These pedals are close to the ground and help my short legs get proper leg extension while riding the bicycle on different types of terrain.
The EvryJourney e-bike by sixthreezero is great for city commutes, light trailing, and even for beachside strolling because of the all-around comfort it gives from its seat and handles.
Around the Block by sixthreezero
Sixthreezero’s Around the Block, which is another e-bike, is so convenient because most of its parts are already assembled upon delivery. I had a hard time assembling my previous bicycle, which is why I looked for other bicycle brands and I am so relieved to find sixthreezero. They have different kinds of women's bicycles for all types of surfaces, including sand and surf. I appreciate the Around the Block because of the convenience of assembling the bike, as well as some of its features that make me fall in love with this one.
I am 5 feet 6 inches tall, and even though it is perfect for women who are 5 to 6 feet tall riders, I am glad to find the Around the Block. The bike is perfect for small women like me because of its easy to mount, step through frame. I can easily climb on this electric bicycle and continue my casual beachside street rides and neighborhood strolls even at night.
Sixthreezero’s Around the Block not only provides aesthetic features, but also offers the greatest beach cruiser comfort. This is thanks to the ergonomic positioning of its pedals and the comfort that its seat and handles give to its riders.
Priority Coast by Priority Bicycles
Priority Coast by Priority Bicycles is a combination of comfort and durability for a beach cruiser-style bicycle. Unlike other competitors, Priority Bicycles are bikes that will last from having a crush until you get married. Aesthetically good, but the real star is its durability. Priority Bicycles' branding is its rustproof feature, which makes the bikes very durable and convenient at the same time. Imagine not having any problems with rusting pedals, chains, handles, and frames. It is worth every dime.
The Priority Coast comes in two different variations.
I prefer this style as the bike is a step-through frame, because of my shorter height. It is a lovely bike for short women, as I can easily control it because it is very lightweight. It is also perfect for beach strolling because of its dustproofing surface. The carbon features make this the first cruiser to take on the sand, salt, and water on the beach. I hope they will release more color choices, but I will certainly endorse this to my colleagues, friends, and relatives.
Chatham Beach Cruiser Bike by Retrospec
I love the Chatham Beach Cruiser Bike by Retrospec for women. The bike is so easy to assemble. Another thing to like about Retrospec’s Beach Cruiser style of bicycle is you don’t need to choose from different variations of Beach Cruisers. Being a bike enthusiast, I always feel challenged when there are lots of variations that a brand has just for one bike type. It is so hard to find a bicycle that will suit a short woman like me.
I am 5 feet flat and my husband’s bike is so inconvenient that I must jump off the bike whenever I need to stop because I am unable to reach the ground to do so. This bike has a fantastic step-on frame that makes it easy to mount on and the pedals are aligned perfectly near to the ground. I don’t have to even on my toes just to balance the bike when stopping it. The only downside that I see here is that it is made of steel, so it is quite heavy compared to other brands. I hope they will produce a carbon-like variation for this bike.
Brighton 7 Speed Cruiser by Brooklyn Bicycle Co
The Brighton 7 Speed Cruiser is gorgeous, and it also brings comfort to the rider. It is one of the easiest bikes to ride on. I discovered this brand during a bicycle convention where I checked out hundreds of bikes in person. Yes, I can ride this bike even with my short legs. Unquestionably, it is perfectly fit for a 5 foot to 6 foot woman like me. I love how easily I can maneuver its handle, and how smooth my turns are, because it is super light but sturdy enough to keep me balanced.
I also like how the pedals are positioned. It is close to the ground to help someone with short legs get proper leg extension while riding a bicycle on different types of ground, like the beach.
I see riders enjoying the Brighton 7 Speed cruiser, especially on city commutes and light trails. However, it is best suited for beachside strolling because of the all-around comfort the beach cruiser gives from its seat, handles, and because of its thick cruise worthy tires. With a variety of bike color options, I just wish they would add more colors as the ones they have are quite dull and not appealing.
Schwinn Cabo Cruiser Bike by Schwinn
Thanks to its fun, vintage style, the Schwinn Cabo Cruiser Bike is perfect for my retro vibe. Best of all, this bicycle is made to fit women riders that are 64 to 74 inches tall. It is hard to find a perfect bike because I have long legs even though I am of a shorter height. A men’s bike is too high in the saddle and frame for me, yet a kid’s bike doesn’t fit as well. Plus, a child’s bike looks silly when I ride it as I am a middle-aged woman. The Cabo Cruiser is not only about the style. The supportive frame makes me fall in love with this bike, thanks to the comfort provided while riding.
The memory foam seat for added support, in combination with the swept back cruiser handlebars, make this beach cruiser easy on your back. That’s right, you won't need to book a massage for your back pains after a weekend of bicycling along the beach coast. The beach cruiser also gives an upright riding position to make it easier to sit back and enjoy the ride.
This bike is perfect for beach strolling and neighborhood night rides with your friends, as it comes with a bright blue color so it can be easily seen even in the dark.
Nel Lusso Women’s Cruiser Bike by Huffy
The Nel Lusso Women’s Cruiser Bike by Huffy is perfect for short women like me who want a subtle kind of style for a bike. The bike only comes in the color of pink, which is a consideration if you are someone who likes variety. You won’t find that here, but the bike does feature a short height of 24 inches, which is the perfect size frame for a shorter woman like me. Finally, you can enjoy a weekend ride thanks to well positioned handles and pedals. This way, you will not have any back pains or knee pains after riding.
One thing I super love about the Nel Lusso Women’s Cruiser Bike is it has a step-on frame that makes it easy to mount the bike saddle. This is another feature that makes this beach cruiser the better choice for someone with a shorter stature. Also, I have to point out how the pedals are aligned perfectly near to the ground. You don’t have to get on your tiptoes just to balance the bike when stopping it.
Urban Lady Women’s Beach Cruiser Bike by Firmstrong
The Urban Lady Women’s Beach Cruiser by Firmstrong Bicycles comes in a wide variety of feminine tones. I recently got the chance to see the Urban Lady Women’s Beach Cruiser in Vanilla color in person, and it is quite a pretty bike up close. Aesthetically, the bike is good, but I really fell in love with the beach cruiser being so lightweight and durable at the same time. I can see a woman handling this bike up and over curbs, and when putting it on a bike frame or hefting it into the back of an SUV for transporting it.
Also, you can directly have a step-through frame which is so perfect for my height. This is a lovely bike for short women like me, as I can easily control it because it is very lightweight. I can easily stop the bike in motion because I have no problems reaching the pedals. However, the handles and pedals still needed to be adjusted to fit the rider. But all in all, this beach cruiser is not only used for beachside strolling, but the bike is well suited for hilly mountains or wavy terrains because of its durability.
Women’s Bayside Cruiser by Kent
The next bicycle I have found to be perfect for shorter women like me is the Women’s Bayside Cruiser. Sold by Kent, a popular bicycle manufacturer and brand, this beach cruiser is well made for those riders who want a subtle kind of style for a bike. It only comes in the color purple, which is key to note if you are searching for variations of style. In terms of height, the bike frame measures 26 inches in height and is perfect for 64 inches to 74 inches.
One thing I specifically shop for and prefer about the Women’s Bayside Cruiser is the riding position.
The seat height and adjustable frame for the seat makes it easy to mount on this beach cruiser. Also, the bicycle pedals are aligned perfectly near to the ground. This is great for shorter women, so I don’t have to stretch my legs to reach the ground. With all its features and add-ons, again like with other manufacturers, I just wish Huffy would produce more colors so there will be a variety to choose from in the shorter women’s bike segment of the market.
Hyper HBC Women’s Cruiser Bike by Hyper Bike Co.
Finally, I present to you the Hyper HBC Women’s Cruiser Bike. This bike is not only gorgeous, but it also brings comfort. I love how easily I can maneuver the bike when at full speed, and how well the brakes work when trying to do so. That’s an important feature that most bicycle owners forgo–the brakes!
I appreciate how the handlebar brakes are designed, as brake pads on the rear or front wheel alone can be dangerous when riding a bike fast. With a variety of bike color options, I chose the bike in its signature blue color so my kids can also use it whenever they want. I will endorse this bike selection to my shorter girlfriends and relatives.
