We're going to take you on a ride on the Simple Step-Thru Fat Tire E-Trike. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. And you can see right now I am on the Simple Step-Thru Fat Tire E-trike and we're going to take you on a ride on this. Now, this is a 750-watt, fat tire e-trike with a 15 amp hour battery. So you're gonna get up to 50 miles on a single charge, and you're also going to be able to hit top speeds of 16 miles an hour. The cool thing is that these four-inch wide tires are super balanced, with no real tipping risk. You can see it's very difficult to get those back wheels to come up. Just engaged the pedal assist, because I pedaled the pedals a little bit. Put that down to zero. Always recommended, when you're at a stop to keep it at zero so nothing engages. Now the other awesome thing here is you've got this very low step-through which makes mounting and dismounting very easy. I'm gonna bring the seat up just a touch too. Now the other cool thing, you've got this basket back here and we've got all sorts of liners and bags that can fit in here. You can also swap the basket for a seat. So if you want to carry up to 100 pounds of passengers in this backseat, you can do that. So check it out on the website. And of course, we've got a suspension fork up here, which is nice for going over the bumps. And then with these handlebars that curve into your body, you've got this nice, upright, relaxed riding position. We've also got a twist throttle right here. You just twist it and you can go. Also has seven speeds that you can use, like on a normal tricycle or bicycle.
You can shift those right here with this trigger shifter. I've got my GoPro here, so you'll be able to see how I'm sort of navigating the bike as we ride. So let's go ahead and go for a little ride here. So I'm going to shift this into first, and I'm going to use my throttle, and we're off and riding. All right, so you can see here we got our display. It tells you the level of pedal assist. We're only in one, and then my throttle's over here. You just kind of can twist this. You can grab it like this and twist it, or you can just twist it like that. Whatever's easy for you. You can reach over here to your gears, and I can put this all the way up into seventh, and we can start cruising. The cool thing about these fat tires is they absorb a lot of the shock like coming down curbs.
Or even going up curbs. Like if I were to come right here. Come up here. You can just see it's balanced. It's easy to ride. And easy to steer, honestly. All right. And so I'm only in pedal assist one right now. And you can see I'm still making good headway. All right, we're going to go up a hill here. So I'm going to put that up higher. Now you can shift your pedal assist levels while you're not moving. Okay, here we go. So even with me, I'm 230 pounds. With these fat tires, you put it in level five and you get up these hills with no problem at all. We could do throttle only, I'll show you. There's throttle only, I am not pedaling whatsoever. You can see. And still can power us up. So really up to you how little or how much you want to work on your rides. You can even run over this pine cone here. Oh, I missed it. Alright, I'm going to start pedaling again. I'm going to dial this back. We don't need to be in level 5 now as we're coming down the hill. It is nice having these thick tires. You don't have to worry about as much of like what's in the middle of the road? Like, perhaps big branches. I can just run right over. All right, we're going to take a right here. You can see we got a little bit of a hill as well. Just use the throttle. Around this corner. There we go. Oh, now I'm going to shift this up. Give me a little more power. Here we go. All right, so okay, I'm still in level five. Now our display is in kilometers an hour. So we're going 21.1 kilometers an hour. I'm just going to coast a little bit. Now you've got three disc brakes on this trike. One on the front and two, on each rear wheel. So in terms of braking power, you've got more than enough. These are Tektro brakes. And you do have parking brakes up here as well. Now I like to ease into the brakes as we come down the hill. I have a car parked here a little bit chilly in California right now. I'm gonna just go up this hill right here and just show you how easy it is to navigate with this trike. All right, coming up here oh that's a little bumpy. I'll go ahead and just use throttle up this, show you the power we got. All right, so we got a little bit of a curb here. We can just roll right over this, no problem. Big tires, you don't feel much at all. Got some pickleball. All right, now we're gonna make our way to some dirt trails and we'll show you how this baby performs, but I wanted to show you too, you know, if you wanna park this in a bike rack. See if I can drive it in. There we go. So parking at a bike rack, you can lock it up just like a normal bike if you so choose. Lock the forks there and then obviously back out. Just pull it out. Pretty easy. And then obviously mounting. I like to step through and then slide back on.
All right, let's continue. All right now we're gonna enter some dirt trails and see how we do. Thank you. Got some crevasses here. No problem for the big tires. We got to get up here. There we go. That's better. Got some serious potholes. Now I'm just coasting. We're going to have to see how we do on the way back here. That's a really big hole right there. Now with all these Divots, you do have to be a little bit careful with your steering. This is some very uneven ground here. Go ahead and let's see. Let's make a turn here. Use the throttle don't have to pedal at all. All right, we hit a dead end and you can see we got some nice terrain here though. So I was only in pedal assist one. All right, we'll turn around and go up the hill. We'll see how we can get up there. But yeah, this is some bumpy ground here. So normally I don't think most people would be on such uneven terrain. All right, let's show you what we got here. We got a pretty big hill to take on. So I'm gonna go ahead and put this in five for our ascent here. Okay, let's do this. I'll start pedaling just to make this a little bit easier. Now the beauty is, is I can also shift my gears. I'm in seven. Let's go ahead and put this down. There we go, into third. It makes it a lot easier for me. Okay, let's find some smooth ground here. Beautiful. Now this is where it gets a little tricky when you have these car tracks here that have dug in. I think I'm gonna go in the middle. Yeah, much better. Or actually, yeah, it's better right here honestly like no effort at all oh divot all right. Okay, so we've got a little slope, so I'm going to stay on the top side here. All right. Now you've got to transfer your weight when you've got huge tilted areas like that. Now you can see the hill. Pretty big hill. Now we're back onto some more flat terrain. And we are up. No problemo. I can go down here. Got some big crevasses here. All right, we got to tackle a pretty big hill here. Still have a lot of battery left, you can see, which is good. Go ahead and shift up there we go. Alright.
