How to Ride an Electric Tricycle Uphill - 3 Wheel Bike Uphill Demonstration

Hey, everyone. Today, I'm going to show you how to ride an electric tricycle uphill. Stick around. Okay. Now, I'm going to show you how to ride an electric tricycle uphill. First and foremost, you want to make sure that you have your bike in first gear. So you're at the lowest speed. Also, in taking a tricycle uphill, I don't recommend using the throttle the entire way because it's going to put a lot of torque on the motor. So being in pedal assist is best. Now, I'm 215 pounds. You can use a combination of the throttle and the pedal assist. Really, it's up to you. But you don't want to use the throttle the entire way.

So if you can, build up some momentum before the hill, and get into first gear. Now, we're going to go for it. So my bike just shifted into first gear. Now, you're going to feel the pedal assist kick in. So sometimes... Now, I've got the pedal assist going. Now, sometimes you can push the throttle down. It may or may not give you a little extra juice. And you can also just keep pedaling while you engage the throttle. It's going to make it easier. So to give you an idea, let me just show you. If I take this down to zero, watch this. You're going to see, becomes quite a bit more difficult for me, right? So now, I'm going to go ahead and put that in fifth.

So keep it at your highest pedal assist level, depending on the hill or how much exercise you want to get out of the ride. So if you want to get less exercise, keep it at level five. I like to keep the throttle engaged, just to keep the motor cranking. It's going to make it as easy as possible. And you can see how it's pretty effortless for me to get up the hill. And this is a pretty substantial hill, actually. So the key is also on hills, make sure if you come to a stop, grab your break, so you don't roll backward. Or I don't recommend stopping on hills. So to get an electric trike uphill, keep the momentum going. Don't stop at any point. Stopping is going to really kill the momentum. Here, we have it. And we made it. No problem.

So basically, the tips of taking an electric tricycle uphill. You can engage the throttle if you have one while you're pedaling. It's just going to make sure the motor's max output. Keep your bike in first gear, the lowest gear you have. And then make sure you're in the highest level pedal assist. Now, if you're looking for more exercise, pull off the throttle, put yourself in less of a pedal assist level, and it'll be more work, but you'll get a heck of a workout.
