Reviewing three electric trikes you must see. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm gonna review three electric trikes that I think you must see. All right, so I've ridden lots of different electric tricycles and logged thousands of miles and so today I'm going to review three of the sixthreezero electric trikes, tell you what they're good for, what the pluses and minuses are for each of them, so hopefully you can help choose the right electric tricycle for you.
Now from right to left, I have the sixthreezero EZ Transit foldable electric trike. In the middle I have the EvryJourney Rickshaw e-trike and on the left here I have the EvryJourney Cruiser e-trike. Now let's start over here with the EvryJourney e-trike. Now this is a great electric tricycle if you want to do some cruising. Now this is a great electric tricycle if you want to do some cruising. Has an ergonomic riding position where you sit upright. Has a step-through frame for easy mounting and dismounting. Now, this has a 250-watt front hub motor and a couple of benefits about it. Now, there are more powerful trikes out there. We're going to get into it with these two. If you're looking for something that can tackle really big hills, this trike is not your answer. Now, this is a great flat ground cruiser trike and the 250 watts on flat ground will be more than enough power. It's very smooth. The other benefit is if in years to come you ever needed to replace it, replacing the front hub motor is very simple and easy. You literally disconnect one wire, plug a new motor in, and you're off and running. Now the other cool thing is these tires.
So these are 2.125-inch cruiser tires here. And they are not ultra-thick, but wide enough to still absorb shock, but roll great. So these are 26-inch tires. so they're going to roll nice and smooth, nice and easy. The benefit of these tires is if you're a rider that wants an e-trike, but still wants to pedal, you may enjoy either not putting it into a pedal assist or using the motor at all, or you may enjoy using a very low pedal assist level. Having 26-inch tires like this is going to make the pedaling easy and you can see we've got other tire sizes over here. With bigger, fatter tires, or even smaller tires, pedaling isn't going to be as easy as it is on the EvryJourney electric tricycle. So I love this trike if you're someone that still wants to get exercise, just wants a little assistance to take on some of the minor hills out there, because it still will help you get up and down hills, driveways, things like that. It's perfect for that, and it's still great to get that exercise. And you're going to be in an ergonomic riding position, So you're going to be sitting completely upright with your back straight, your arms relaxed, and you can see I don't have to bend or strain. And the other cool thing is there are four custom adjustment points. You can adjust the tilt of the handlebars, raise and lower the handlebars, raise and lower the seat, and tilt the seat to find the perfect riding position for your body.
Okay, now you've also got the oversized cruiser seat, which is comfortable. And if you want to come in here, I'll show you a few other things. You have front and rear brakes. Now you have a front caliper brake and a rear drum brake. Now on a 250-watt motor, disc brakes are not necessary. Again, if you're doing mostly flat ground around-town riding, these brakes are more than ample for your typical rides. And on the EvryJourney, you're going to be able to get up to 50 miles of range. Now it comes with a throttle, which is cool. And if you look up here on the handlebars, this is called a thumb throttle. So you'd push that with your thumb, and now you can use this without pedaling at all.
All right, so you'll have your display here. This will show you all your information about your rides, miles per hour, what level of pedal assist you're in, and everything will be controlled up or down. If you want to go into a higher level of pedal assist, push up. Lower level of pedal assist, you'll push down here. You can see the throttle is easily located by your thumb, so you can use that with no problem. Another cool thing is you have a seven-speed derailleur, which is seven gears that are unrelated to the electrical piece of the bike. This is like a normal bicycle having seven speeds. And you can go ahead and twist shift up here, and that shifts the gears. Typically you don't want to do that while the bike's standing still.
But again, this is a good electric tricycle if you want to do some pedaling, you have seven speeds, you want to cruise around the neighborhood, you have your gears, and you can keep it in a one, two, or three-pedal assist and take on, still, some of the minor hills and be comfortable. And also you've got a large basket in the rear. The other cool thing is I have one of our liners in here and there are different types of bags and customizations you can do to this tricycle. This is a liner that you can put in here if you want to take your dog with you or you just want to put other cargo in the rear as well. So battery, like I said, battery can get you up to 50 miles, depending on the combination of pedal assist and throttle that you're using.
We have a diagram on the product page that can tell you more specifically the range you should expect to get based on what level of pedal assist you're using or if you're using the throttle. So, but on the top end, you're gonna get up to 50 miles in a single ride and possibly even more, if you stay in a low level of pedal, assist the whole way. So you can fit some cargo back here. This is also available in four colorways. You have navy, cream, teal, and matte black. So it's a cool e-trike. Now moving on, let's keep the rickshaw for the last here. Let's move on to the EZ Transit. Now this is completely different from the EvryJourney.
This one has 16-inch tires and it's completely foldable. The other thing I will say is I'm not gonna get into the specifics and the test riding and folding but if you want to see more videos about any of these trikes we have a playlist on the sixthreezero channel with more details about all these test rides testimonials different stuff so check those out on our youtube channel as well. Now this is a foldable e-trike you can see right here you have the hinge to unfold and fold this trike so you can easily fold it up and take it with you and the handlebars fold down as well So this one's transportable, can be lifted into the back of an SUV, pickup truck, or a hatchback, and we have a video detailing that as well.
This has seven speeds as well. Now, a couple of cool features about this one that differentiate it. Number one, smaller tires. So I wouldn't recommend this trike necessarily for rides over 10 miles in a single ride. The EvryJourney, the wheel size, and the setup are conducive to those longer rides. I think in an ideal world, 10 miles and under for this foldable e-trike. Now not to say you couldn't go longer and you couldn't go longer with the pedal assist or the throttle, but if you like to pedal, it's going to be an easier experience pedaling with the bigger tires. Also with the smaller tires, you know, depending on what level of pedal assist you like, you might need to, you might drain the battery quicker.
You may not know. range is going to be the same up to 50 miles. You also have a throttle on this one. You have a center display here, which is a little bit different from a little larger display. And, um you have your adjustment, or you're sorry you're up and down for the pedal assist right here as well. And the same thing, one, two, three, four, five levels of pedal assist. Now, this is a 750-watt front hub motor, so more powerful than EvryJourney. The reason we did that is because we wanted riders to take on larger hills in neighborhoods and other places and accommodate riders that may be 300 pounds or a little bit more as well. So you have the added power, which is crazy with how small the tires are as well and the motor fits into that front wheel.
The other huge benefit is this extremely low step-through frame, which is super easy to get on and off. And now the riding position and the benefits of that are similar to the EvryJourney. The cool thing about this one is you have these which are called mini ape hanger handlebars, and they can come into your body so you can bring these bars close in if you don't want to reach at all or be out here. So you have great control. And this is also very stable with these 16-inch wheels. So we've found that this trike can double as an indoor-outdoor trike. So if you're looking for something maybe to ride indoors and then also take it around communities, it's just so easy to turn and steer because of the small tires and also having the handlebars so close to you.
It's great to get around a small community or again indoors. And we have some other videos where we've taken this into a department store and you can see how you can zig and zag through aisles on this thing. It's a lot, a lot of fun. all right you've got a front and rear basket which is cool so plenty of space to take cargo with you the rear one you can pop open like this and put your stuff in there now you've also got disc brakes so the front and rear disc brakes so a little bit of an upgrade on the braking because of the added power on the front wheel so if you're going higher speeds you want to have those disc brakes to ensure you can stop amply now the last feature I want to tell you about that's even the coolest, you have a reverse option here. So if you do want to ride it indoors and you get stuck into a precarious space, you can slip this to reverse. Now you can either push the throttle and the bike moves backward, or you can pedal backward and the bike will move backward. So that's a lot of fun and cool. So looking for something compact, easy to steer, but still really powerful, and you want it to be easy on and off with a very low step-through, Easy Transit is your trike. Now, last but not least is the rickshaw. This thing is the ultimate in e-trikes. You can bring passengers with you up to 400 pounds um well about up to 600 pounds on the total trike.
About 350, 400 pounds on the back here. You're gonna fit about two small adults or up to three kids on the rear here and of course your driver. You can see you've got a rear basket under there. So, if you want to ride with a loved one, maybe you have a son or daughter that can't ride on their own, or maybe you want to take your kids with you and commute, run errands to the pool, to school, you name it, the rickshaw is so perfect for that. And again, we've got tons of videos on this one on our YouTube channel, so go ahead and check that out. Now, this has a 750-watt front hub motor as well, so it's ultra-powerful. You can hit up to 20 miles an hour with the throttle only, and you still have the five levels of pedal assist as well.
And you've also got a massive battery on here. Now, you're still going to get the same, about 50 miles of range. The range is going to be dependent on the load. And there's a graphic on the website detailing more specifically the type of range you can expect based on the load and also the pedal assist or the throttle and how you're using it. Now, the same things are up here. We have a middle display as well. You have a thumb throttle as well. You have a seven-speed derailleur like the other trikes. and you have your assist up and down arrows as here. So again, five levels of pedal assist. If you use the throttle in this thing and you have riders on the back, it can do all the work.
You don't have to pedal at all. Again, check out the videos. It is so much fun. This can replace your car. The cool thing too is these fat tires. So these are four-inch wide tires and it's 20-inch tires in the rear and 24-inch tires in the front. and having the smaller tires in the rear keeps it set lower in the back, which makes it very, very balanced, and you don't have to worry about tipping. Of course, you have riders in the back, you want it to be stable. Now, also, riding this without passengers is easy and fun, and you can remove this seat easily if you want to take it off and not ride with the seat. So, ride with passengers as you see fit, or don't.
Take it off and ride by your lonesome, either way, it performs, and it's a lot of fun. So, a great all-purpose trike that can go off-road is also so much fun for the whole family or loved ones or any riders that you want to take with you. We've got our easy transit that is portable, easy to bring with you, lightweight and small, and our every journey Cruising, great for longer distance rides. You may want to pedal, get out, and take your dog with you three different trikes three different reviews three different purposes all great for different options.
