I'm going to show you the absolute biggest bike seat that ever existed, stick around.
Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and ebike industry, and right here I've got the sixthreezero Super Duper Max Cush seat. This is the absolute largest seat that you're going to find for a bike seat on the market, and I'm going to walk you through the details of it and show it to you. But before we get into it, hit that subscribe button below, stay in touch with us here at sixthreezero. Be the first to know about all the new content we're putting out, giveaways we're doing, and of course new product releases.
All right, so this is the Super Duper Max Cush saddle. This is super wide, and super big, with a lot of surface area for you to put your tush in and be comfortable. Now, for comparison's sake, we have our other seat here, which was our Super Max Cush, which was at the time our largest seat. Now we've upgraded to the Super Duper Max Cush, and you can see the size difference between these two saddles.
Now, everything else is pretty much the same, nice, soft memory foam cushioning on both of these with the synthetic leather covers. You've got the edges up on the sides to cradle your rear, and I'm going to show you some measurements here and some of the details of it. I'm going to go ahead and put it into our EVRYjourney e trike here and clamp this down. All right, and if you want to come in for some close-ups, I will walk you around this seat.
Now, if you also want to see right here what it looks like with the Max Cush on top. So the Max Cush seat is 14 and a half inches wide, and the Super Duper Max Cush is 17 inches wide, so you're getting an extra two and a half inches in width on this seat. Now front to back, the Super Duper is 13 inches and the Max Cush is 11 and a half inches, so you're getting another inch and a half width as well. So, you're gaining two and a half on the length and one and a half on the width. You can tell by looking at them, the shapes of the seat are pretty much the same.
Now when we talk about the Super Duper, it's not a seat that is for everybody. If you have a waist that I would say is 36 or below, 36 is about the cutoff line for this seat. Now I say that with a little hesitation, because anybody can ride it, but I'll show you what the problem is, is if you have skinny legs and a narrower waist, you may end up cutting off your legs a little bit on the down pedal here, okay?
Now I will say it's very, very comfortable, but if you're concerned about your leg extension and your performance, it may not be the saddle for you, I just want to say that. I do like it, it's very comfortable for me. I have a 36-inch waist. Now, I can feel that it's coming about right here on my leg. On a narrower seat, you're going to have a little bit more free flow, so when I put my leg like here, I can feel restriction because of the seat, okay? So, that's just something to think about.
Now, if performance and comfort are more up your alley and you're going to have the seat a little bit lower, then you're not going to feel that restriction. For me, the restriction happens when I start to get right about here. Now if you keep your seat low, you may not even bend your leg in its entirety to the proper length, 'cause maybe you want to keep the seat lower. After all, it's safer or it feels more comfortable. In that situation, you may not feel any restriction at all. So I would say a waist that is 30 to 36 inches, you may want to consider the Super Max and 36 inches and above, the Super Max Cush.
Now, if you also want to see right here what it looks like with the Max Cush on top. So the Max Cush seat is 14 and a half inches wide, and the Super Duper Max Cush is 17 inches wide, so you're getting an extra two and a half inches in width on this seat. Now there are other areas, it's not just waste, I'm trying to give a ballpark here. It depends on the size of your bottom, how you want it cradled and how you want it to feel, quite honestly. If you can take a rear shot of me from the back here, you can see that it's giving me really good support back here, and I have a little bit of space here on the side as well, but it's creating my whole rear, which makes it feel honestly like an office chair or a sofa seat or something of that nature. But when I pedal, probably from the angle here, you can see right here it cuts my leg just a little bit, like I said, but again, it's very, very comfortable.
So I would also say weight-wise, if you're 250 pounds or above, this is probably a good option as well if you're looking for max support. This is going to be a seat you can get on and not feel soreness while you ride, but again, it's going to limit performance, so there's a trade-off for comfort over performance. If you're looking for more strict performance, you're going to want a narrower seat that has no restriction on your legs at all.
So, this is the hugest seat you can get out there for a single saddle, 17 ... did I say 17 or 17 and a half? I need to just double-check that again. So, 17 inches wide is a large seat. We wanted to make something that would feel almost like a chair but wouldn't be bulky like some seats we see out there, it's just the normal shape of a regular seat. And if you want to shoot from the back here too just to take a look at what these two look like.
So again, both of these are really good options. We have some other videos as well where we have riders testing out the Super Max Cush seat, so you can see what they look like on those and what kind of support they're getting. But again, just be prepared that this is going to depend on the size of your legs. Now if you have bigger legs around, you may not feel that restriction, because you may be coming over the front of the seat more. It all depends on the type of rider you are.
But I'd just like to put that out there, that again you will have a slight amount of leg restriction, but if you want the most comfort, you can see how soft it is right here, and you want to feel like you're honestly riding on a cloud and you want full support, see the little wings here as well, that'll keep your sides tucked in on your hips, so you'll have no overhang and you won't have something digging into the middle of your butt. I think with performance seats that's the issue, is it's going to dig right into you. So you could get onto this no-biking experience at all, not have any pain, and be super comfortable throughout your ride. So, the biggest seat there is on the market.
