Want to Off Road on Your Electric Tricycle? This Fat Tire E Trike Is Great For Trails

A fat tire e-trike you can take off-roading. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry and today I'm gonna show you this fat tire e-trike that you can take off-roading on trails, hard-pack trails, and some dirt environments as well. All right, this is the Simple Step-Thru Fat Tire e-trike. It has four-inch by 20-inch wheels in the rear and 24-inch by four-inch in the front. This is a stable trike with these fat tires. Also with the knobby treads here, they can take on these trails with no problem. So it's a lot of fun. Also, if you want to do on-road pavement riding, it can do that as well. We've got another video you can check out on the YouTube channel to see more details about it. 750-watt front hub motor, 15 amp hour battery, so up to 50 miles on a single charge, up to 16 miles an hour with the motor. Now, you've got the pedal assist and the throttle option. You've got a throttle here. The cool thing is if you wanna pedal, you also have seven speeds like on a bicycle, so you can find the right gear that's good for you. Suspension fork, which is nice if you're gonna roll on hard trails like this, so it'll absorb a lot of the bumps as you're rolling over them. The four-inch wide tires are also gonna absorb a lot of that too, so you're not gonna feel those vibrations throughout your body. It makes for a nice, comfortable, smooth ride. It's also got an easy and low step-through.

It's the lowest step-through height I've seen on any electric tricycle, and you can mount, and slide on very easily. And in addition to that, you've got three disc brakes, one in the front, two in the rear, so you can brake easily, and parking brakes you can engage here as well, so the bike doesn't roll away without you doing anything. So you can sit here. Now when you disengage, you can see I'm gonna start rolling forward. So I'm gonna take you on some hard-packed trails. We're gonna go for a little ride. And just show you how this baby performs. Now, I'm 230 pounds. Again, it's a 750-watt motor, and you'll see how we can get along here easily. All right, come along on the ride. Got some crevasses here. No problem with the big tires. We got to get up here. There we go. That's better. Got some serious potholes. Now I'm just coasting. We're going to have to see how we do on the way back here. That's a really big hole right there. Now with all these divots, you do have to be a little bit careful with your steering because this is some very uneven ground here. I'll go ahead and, let's see, let's make a turn here. Just use the throttle, don't have to pedal at all. All right, we hit a dead end. You see we got some nice terrain here though. So I was only in pedal assist one. All right, we'll turn around and go up the hill. We'll see how we can get up there. But yeah, this is some bumpy ground here. So normally I don't think most people would be on such uneven terrain.

All right, let's show you what we got here. We got a pretty big hill to take on. So I'm gonna go ahead and put this in five for our ascent here. Okay, let's do this. I'll start pedaling just to make this a little bit easier. Now the beauty is, is I can also shift my gears. I'm in seven. Let's go ahead and put this down. There we go, into third. It makes it a lot easier for me. Okay, let's find some smooth ground here. Beautiful. Now this is where it gets a little tricky when you have these car tracks here that have dug in. I think I'm gonna go in the middle. Yeah, much better. Or, yeah, it's better right here. Honestly, like no effort at all. Oh, divot. All right. All right.

Okay, so we've got a little slope, so I'm going to stay on the top side here. All right. Now you've got to transfer your weight when you've got huge tilted areas like that. Now you can see the hill. Pretty big hill. Now we're back onto some more flat terrain. And we are up. No problemo. I'd go down here. . . . Well, I think it's a good place for us to end our off-road ride we're gonna ride through the trails a little bit more, but you can see the simple step-thru fat tire. It's a lot of fun out here. If you've got some gravel trails or hard-pack trails or dirt trails like this and you're looking for a trike to get out on, it's a good option.

Safe and easy to mount and dismount, and the 750 watts of power is very powerful. You can use the throttle or pedal assist, your choice.
