The Future of E-Bikes: Exploring the Revolutionary Forward Pedaling Design

Hey everyone. I'm Dustin. I've nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm going to answer the question, what is a forward pedaling designed e-bike? Stick around.

All right, so what is a forward-pedaling designed e-bike? Before we answer that, hit subscribe below. Stay in touch with us here at sixthreezero. Be the first to know about all the new content we're putting out, giveaways we're doing, and of course, new product releases. All right, so forward-pedaling designed bikes and e-bikes have become very popular in the last 25 years. They've changed the geometry of recreational bikes and what people thought of how bikes needed to be designed. So when you look at this bike behind me right here, I want to explain something. So I'll explain what a forward pedaling designed bike or e-bike is. So firstly, when you look at your seat here, typically the pedals will fall directly below the seat, so you're going to be pedaling straight down below your hips. Now, in this case, the pedals are moved forward six inches. That's what is deemed a forward pedaling design e-bike, where the pedals are moved forward from where they traditionally are.

Now, what does this do? What it does is it allows riders to get leg extension when riding because the pedals are moved forward instead of the seat having to be raised. So traditionally, to get your leg extension, to get proper leg extension, you have to raise the seat. In this situation, you're going to get six inches of leg extension because the pedals are moved forward for example. Typically you'd be pedaling right here. Now we're here, so it's creating more extension for your leg. Now, what does that ultimately do? It means you can have your feet flat or at least closer to the ground, depending on how tall you are, as opposed to having to be up on the balls of your feet to get the proper leg extension. You can have your feet flat on the ground or be closer to the ground and still get the proper leg extension when riding.

Now, what does this equal? This equals safety, and this equals peace of mind. If you're someone that has balance issues or you're generally just a little bit scared of riding an e-bike, this forward pedaling design is a huge benefit because it's going to keep you lower to the ground so when you stop, you can get your feet down a lot easier if you're up here and you kind of got to balance like this. So it's a really cool feature to have the forward pedaling design, especially on an e-bike when you're talking about there being more power involved and the need to balance a little bit more, not to balance a little bit more, but to have more control over the bike.

So if you're able to have your feet flat when stopped, you can have more control. If you're up like this, your balance isn't going to be as good. So it's a great safety feature for anybody that just wants a little more peace of mind when they're riding and stopping. And this is a feature we do on our sixthreezero evryjourney right here. I don't see this feature on too many e-bikes in the marketplace, and I feel like it's something that keeps safety top of mind when we're talking about e-bikes.

The other benefit is just this relaxed riding position. So if you're going to use the pedal assist, it's just nice because you've got the legs forward a little bit. It's really comfortable for your hips and your knees and overall on this cruiser, the handlebar comes in, your back can stay upright, and it's just a great easy riding position on your body.

I really personally enjoy it, and this style of bike is one of the top recreational styles of a regular bike in the country, so it's my belief why not translate it to the e-bike for those riders that just want a little bit of assistance, but they still like the forward pedaling design. They like the ease of the on-off, and they also like how easy it is on their body. Again, it's a great option. If you want to see this EvryJourney in action, see more details about it. We've got tons of videos on our YouTube about it. I also have a video explaining more about the forward-pedaling design, but this is our Every Journey forward-pedaling e-bike. Any other questions, comment below or email us at theteam@sixthreezero.com or call us at (310) 982-2877. Find this bike on our website. Also, if you don't know what e-bike you're looking for, take our proprietary body fit quiz on our website, answer a few questions about your body and your life, and we'll recommend the perfect e-bike for you.

In addition, we have a 30-day test ride on your e-bike policy. If you don't love it in the first 30 days, send it back, no questions asked, no money out of your pocket, and for one year we'll take care of everything, replace everything, and make sure no matter what goes wrong, we'll take care of it for you. Lastly, join our Facebook Pedalers group and download our app. Being a part of our community is a great place to go before you purchase because you can talk to existing riders, get their opinions, and see how they like the bikes. Then once you have your bike, track your rides on the app, and make friends in the Pedalers group. It's tons of fun. So thanks for sticking around and don't forget, it's your journey, your experience. Enjoy the ride.
