What is a forward-pedaling e-bike?

 Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm going to explain to you what is a forward-pedaling e-bike. Okay, right here I've got the EvryJourney 500-watt e-bike. This is just one of the colors it comes in. Comes in a whole slew of colors, teal, cream, navy, and matte black. Now, this idea of a forward-pedaling bicycle has been around for a little over 20 years and it's a cool concept and what it means is the pedals are moved forward from where they are in a traditional bike frame. Traditionally, pedals are right below the seat. In this situation, they're moved forward six inches. Now, what does that do exactly? What it does is it allows the seat to be lower to the ground, but the rider can still get proper leg extension when riding because of the pedals being moved forward.

Because you'll see when I get on, I'm going to get the extension from my feet being out here. Now what does it mean? It means you can be closer to the ground when stopped, but still get leg extension when riding. Now obviously this seat is too low for me, but I'm just demonstrating. So if you find that perfect height, let's say for me it's up here, I still can be up here and then get the leg extension while I'm riding because the pedals are shifted forward six inches. So, it's a way to keep riders lower to the ground and keep them feeling safer and more confident. So when you stop, you can easily plant your feet and you're not up here. Now, from an electric bike standpoint, that's a cool feature because having the power of the motor and whatnot, it can be more daunting if you want to or scary for some riders. So the idea of being lower to the ground and having more control is something a lot of riders enjoy.

Now, the other thing about this electric bike forward pedaling is It has an ergonomic riding position. So I don't know if you saw me, but when I'm sitting here, my back is upright. My arms are relaxed, and I can look around, and I can see, and I can ride comfortably. Now, there are four custom adjustment points as well. So you can raise and lower the handlebars, tilt the handlebars, raise and lower the seat, tilt the seat, and you can find that perfect riding position for you. So not only do you get the comfort out of this e-bike, but you also get the ergonomic and you also get that forward pedaling design that allows you to be safe and have your feet planted on the ground.
