Will this fat tire recumbent e-trike flip when doing tight turns and riding on uneven ground? Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today we're gonna test this fat tire recumbent e-trike and see if it will tip while doing tight turns and riding on uneven ground. All right. I am on the Simple Glide 750 Watt Fat Tire Recumbent e-trike. It's awesome, really stable, and really easy to ride a fat tire e-trike. We've got a sloping parking lot, and I've got some cones here and we're going to see if I can make it through without any risk of tipping. Now, I can tell you this e-trike is one of the most stable you're ever going to get on with these 4-inch wide tires and the longer frame with the recumbent style. It keeps it incredibly balanced, and this isn't an extreme angle on the parking lot here, but it is enough of an angle where if you've watched other YouTube videos, We've had riders when they get sucked into this, they sometimes get pulled down towards the curb. So it is enough of an angle to throw a lot of riders off. Now I'm going to show you the beauty of this with the fat tires is that there's almost zero risk of tipping at all. I feel completely stable. The wheels are completely stuck to the ground and pose zero risk at all. Oh, you know what? Why don't I come back to the other side? And I'm just going to use the throttle here for the simplicity of making the video.
Now, even if I lean this way, obviously, if I bring my hands that way, but I honestly feel no bit of fear of tipping at all. let's see if we can go through these cones and not lift a tire at all, and I'll see how quickly I can do it. Now, you also have to keep in mind that I'm making these turns on a downward angle and I'm still not even lifting the tires off the ground. Now, we've also got angled ground that we're even riding on. Now, I do have to control my speed, right? I can't fly through this, but these are pretty serious angles, and you can see that all three of my tires stay firmly planted and no risk of tipping whatsoever. Just going to show you a little fast pace here. I'm going to go, I'm going to skip a cone and go even faster on this one. Oh, run over that one, but didn't tip, didn't have any risk of tipping. Let's do that one more time and I'll skip a cone too so I can speed up a little bit. Now I am shifting my butt a little bit. But that's actually kind of what feels natural for me too. So it's hard for me not to do that. Got to get a nice momentum here through there. All right. Now, I've done lots of other videos on the Simple Glide fat tire. It is so stable and fun to ride. If you're somebody who has a fear of trikes and you're worried about tipping, this is a great choice, the fat tires take it over the edge.
There's also a rear differential that disperses the power between both of the rear tires, which also helps to add to the stability and safety, especially when you're doing turns like I just did.
